When does your 60-day grace period end?
After your OPT ends, or your H-1B job ends, the clock starts on a 60-day window to act. Enter one date and see the exact day your grace period ends and how long you have left.
The end date printed on your EAD. Grace period starts the day after.
On H-1B, the grace period ends after 60 days OR on your I-94 date, whichever comes first.
Rules: F-1 students get a 60-day grace period after the OPT/STEM OPT EAD end date (or program completion) to change status, transfer, or depart. H-1B workers get up to 60 days after employment ends, or until the I-94 expiration date, whichever is sooner. You generally cannot work during the grace period. Dates are estimates based on what you enter; your I-94, EAD, and DSO/attorney guidance are authoritative. This tool is informational, not legal advice.
